In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful "Because of that, We decreed upon the Children of Israel that whoever kills a soul, unless for a soul, or for corruption in the land, it is as if he had killed humankind entirely" (The Holy Quran, Al-Ma-ida, 5: 32). "And whoever kills a believer intentionally, his recompense is Hell, wherein he will abide eternally, and Allah has become angry with him, and has cursed him, and has prepared for him a great torment" (Al-Nisa, 4: 93). "If you do good, you do good for yourselves; and if you do evil, (you do it) to yourselves. Then, when the latter (final) promise came, they (your enemies) will sadden your faces, and to enter the Masjid (in Jerusalem), as they entered it the first time, and will destroy what they had taken over with (total) destruction (Al-Isra, 17: 7). *** While brutal force has been used to create Zionist Israel and sustain it thus far, Zionist claims to Palestine are false. Actually, from the five thousand years of known written human history, there has been a continuous Palestinian-Canaanite presence in the Holy Land. Despite the Zionist false claims, the ancient Israelites ruled part of the land for only 85 years (during the reign of Prophets David and Solomon , peace be upon them, and Solomon's son). After that, the Egyptians conquered Palestine-Canaan in 925 BC, followed by Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, and Romans, before the Arab Muslim rule, starting from 636 AD. By the Time Jesus, peace be upon him, started his mission, the three population groups of Canaanites, Palestinians, and Israelites were melted together in religion and language. Most of them became Christians when Constantine converted in 313 AD. Then, most of them became Muslims in the 7th and 8th centuries AD. So, Palestinian Muslims, Christians, and Jews are the ones who have the right to claim descent from ancient Israelites, Palestinians, and Canaanites, not Zionists from other continents. No matter what the Zionists and their supporters do, they cannot change the will of God, Who promised the Holy Land to Abraham and his descendants, basically the Palestinian Muslims and Christians. No matter how much persecution and aggression the Zionists and their supporters inflict upon the Palestinian people, they will never be able to force them out of the Holy Land, which Allah, praise to Him, promised for them, and kept His promise ever since. This is a necessary brief background to understand the US-Backed Zionist Israeli continuous wars against the Arab nation generally, and the Palestinian people in particular, which included the wars of 1948, 1956, 1967, 1978, 1982, the brutal crushing of the two Uprisings (1987-1993 and 2000-2004), 2009, 2012, 2014, 2021, and the current genocidal war on Gaza (Since October 7, 2023), which has culminated a blockade of Gaza since 2007. In addition, the Israeli occupation and apartheid regime launched so many covert operations, raids, and air strikes on many Arab states since 1948. The following news stories are just examples, not a systematic record, of the Israeli occupation government abuse, mistreatment, and violations of Palestinian human rights, on daily basis.

The commission cited examples including the scale of the killings, the obstruction of aid, forced displacement, and the destruction of a fertility center to support its findings of genocide, adding its voice to those of human rights groups and others who have reached the same conclusion. “Genocide is taking place in Gaza,” said Navi Pillay, chair of the Independent International Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory and former judge of the International Criminal Court. “Responsibility for these horrific crimes lies with the Israeli authorities at the highest levels, who have led a campaign of genocide for nearly two years with the specific goal of eliminating Palestinians in Gaza,” she added. K.T. *** 'Hamas calls on int’l community to take decisive action commensurate with the scale of the massacres Tuesday 16-September-2025 GAZA, (PIC) 'Hamas has urged the international community to adopt firm positions and decisions that match the scale of the Israeli massacres in Gaza Strip, and to compel the Israeli occupation army to end the war and lift the blockade on the enclave. In a press statement on Tuesday, Hamas said that the Israeli army’s expansion of its offensive on Gaza City, along with intensified airstrikes and ground operations, marks a new chapter in a “systematic campaign of genocide and ethnic cleansing” against Palestinians in the Strip. The Movement emphasized that these actions are worsening the humanitarian catastrophe. 'Hamas stressed that the crimes committed against civilians in Gaza “have surpassed all international norms and laws,” placing full responsibility for the consequences of the aggression on the US administration. The statement further asserted that the US administration is “a key partner in the ongoing genocide and ethnic cleansing.” 'Hamas reiterated its call on the international community to take decisive stances and actions proportionate to the scale of the massacres, and to pressure Israel to end the war and lift the siege. The Movement also appealed to the Arab and Islamic countries, as well as the peoples of the world, to assume their historical and moral responsibilities toward Gaza and its residents, and to work to halt Israel’s expansionist plans aimed at liquidating the Palestinian cause and threatening the entire region. *** 'Hamas slams Trump’s recent remarks on Gaza, Israeli captives Tuesday 16-September-2025 GAZA, (PIC) The 'Hamas Movement has condemned US president Donald Trump’s recent remarks about Israeli captives as a “blatant bias in favor of the Zionist propaganda” and a “stark reflection of double standards.” In a statement on Tuesday, Hamas said that Trump ignored in his remarks the Israeli crimes of ethnic cleansing and the genocide that have claimed the lives of over 65,000 innocent civilians, mostly women and children, in the Gaza Strip. “The US administration is fully aware that war criminal Netanyahu is actively sabotaging all prospects for reaching an agreement that would lead to the release of prisoners and end the brutal genocidal war on the Gaza Strip. The latest example of this is the criminal attack on the State of Qatar and the attempted assassination of the negotiation delegation during discussions over Trump’s latest proposal,” Hamas said. “The fate of Israeli captive soldiers in the Gaza Strip is determined by the government of terrorist Netanyahu,” Hamas underlined, warning that the systematic destruction and fascist genocidal campaign in Gaza City put the lives of the captives at severe risk. The Movement held Netanyahu fully responsible for the fate of his captive soldiers in Gaza and accused the US administration of being directly involved in Israel’s brutal war of extermination in the Strip. Last night, Trump claimed that he had read a news report saying that Hamas had moved the Israeli captives above ground “to use them as human shields” during the Israeli military operation in Gaza City, calling such a step a humanitarian crime, while ignoring the horrific and unprecedented daily atrocities in Gaza committed by the Israeli occupation regime with full US support. *** Spain threatens to withdraw from Eurovision if Israel participates MADRID, September 16, 2025 (WAFA) – Spain has joined four other countries in threatening to withdraw from the 2026 Eurovision Song Contest if Israel participates, in protest against its genocidal war on the Gaza Strip that has been ongoing for nearly two years. According to Spanish television, Spain has decided to withdraw from the Eurovision Music Festival if Israel participates. The Netherlands joined Ireland, Slovenia, and Iceland a few days ago in threatening to withdraw from the 2026 Eurovision Song Contest if Israel participates. K.T. *** Israeli occupation army escalates attacks on civilians, massacres dozens in Gaza Tuesday 16-September-2025 GAZA, (PIC) The Israeli occupation army continued, last night and on Tuesday, to carry out intensive deadly strikes and target civilians in different areas of the Gaza Strip — mainly in Gaza City, where a large-scale military operation was announced today. According to local media sources, Israeli forces also continued today to detonate and bomb more homes and tents and displace families across the Gaza Strip, further deepening the dire humanitarian crisis as the population grapples with worsening famine. According to the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) reporter in Gaza, Israeli attacks have continued across the Gaza Strip, including airstrikes that killed dozens of civilians in Gaza City. At least 20 of those victims were killed in the afternoon after Israeli warplanes bombed a residential block in the Bani 'Aamir area of Gaza City’s El-Daraj neighborhood. Dozens also sustained injuries or reported missing. The Israeli army also detonated several booby-trapped armored vehicles in different areas of Gaza City, mainly in Tal al-Hawa neighborhood. According to local and media sources, Gaza City is under intense bombardment and casualties are reported continuously. This military escalation comes in the wake of the Israeli government’s launch of a major operation against Gaza City, which involves massive aerial and artillery strikes on structures and civilians. The Israeli army also launched attacks on other areas of the Gaza Strip last night and today, killing and wounding more civilians, including children and women. Meanwhile, dozens of people were martyred or injured in Israeli attacks on aid seekers near distribution points in separate areas of Gaza. Three people, including one child, were also proclaimed dead due to starvation and malnutrition, while other Gazans were pronounced dead after they succumbed to injuries they sustained in recent attacks, according to Gaza’s health ministry today. *** IOFs force Gaza residents into displacement using explosive armored vehicles Tuesday 16-September-2025 GAZA, (PIC) The Israeli occupation army has expanded its use of explosive-laden troop carriers and armored vehicles to demolish buildings and forcibly displace nearly one million Palestinians from Gaza City in preparation for its occupation. According to the Israeli Broadcasting Authority, the army deployed explosive armored personnel carriers into Gaza overnight and on Tuesday, aiming to destroy buildings and infrastructure ahead of a broader ground incursion into the city’s outskirts. The report explained that these carriers are “old, disabled M113 armored vehicles filled with tons of explosives, capable of being remotely controlled and driven deep into targeted areas.” Loud explosions are heard nightly in eastern Gaza City as these explosive carriers are detonated. The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) are employing psychological warfare to instill fear among Palestinians, aiming to reduce the population in Gaza City by pushing residents to flee before any anticipated ground invasion. This comes amid a violent IOF assault on Gaza City, where Palestinians endured a bloody night that left 35 dead, with others injured or missing, under intense aerial and artillery bombardment. Explosive-laden robots were also used to demolish homes and residential buildings in the city’s northwest. Israeli Army Minister Yisrael Katz boasted on Tuesday about the intensifying genocide in Gaza, posting on the platform “X” that “Gaza is burning, and the army strikes with an iron fist.” In a sign of escalating military operations, the Israeli Broadcasting Authority stated that “the occupation of Gaza City will be carried out in phases, accompanied by heavy firepower to support army forces.” Since October 7, 2023, Israel, backed by the United States, has committed acts of genocide in Gaza, including killing, starvation, destruction, and forced displacement, ignoring international appeals and orders from the International Court of Justice to halt its actions. The genocide has resulted in 64,905 Palestinian deaths, 164,926 injuries, and famine that claimed the lives of 428 people, including 146 children. *** ****** Gaza death toll from Israel's deadly genocide surpasses 64,964 Gaza, September 16, 2025 (WAFA, PIC) – The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza reported that 59 people were killed and 386 others were wounded and taken to at hospitals in the Gaza Strip over the past 24 hours. This brings the death toll from the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip has risen to 64,964 and 165,312 wounded, since October 7, 2023. The Ministry also mentioned that a number of victims are still under the rubble and on the streets, as ambulances and civil defense crews are unable to reach them at this time. The number of slain aid-seekers who were taken to hospitals over the past 24 hours reached 112, bringing the total number of people who arrived at hospitals to 2,497 and more than 18,294 wounded. A total of 12,413 people have been killed and 53,271 others have been injured since the Israeli occupation army resumed its genocidal war on Gaza on March 18, 2025. Three deaths were recorded as a result of famine and malnutrition, including one child, bringing the total to 428, including 146 children. Since the IPC declared famine in the Gaza Strip, 150 deaths have been recorded, including 31 children. K.T *** Israeli occupation forces intensify Gaza airstrikes as death toll mounts GAZA, September 16, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli fighter jets have been carrying out heavy airstrikes on Gaza City for several days, with bombardments escalating overnight and continuing into Monday. The airstrikes, which include air raids and artillery shelling, have targeted residential buildings in an apparent effort to force civilians to flee south. The death toll continues to rise by the hour. Since dawn, more than 40 Palestinians have been killed and dozens injured, according to local health sources. In southern Gaza City’s Tel El-Hawa neighborhood, Israeli forces detonated five armored vehicles packed with explosives to demolish homes. Heavy bombardment also continues across southern districts of the city. The World Food Program warned that forced evacuations from Gaza City are depleting families’ already scarce resources. The war on Gaza has now entered its 711th day, marked by relentless bombardment, the destruction of homes, and strikes on makeshift shelters, leaving civilians with no safe place to go. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed that Israel has launched a large-scale military operation in Gaza as part of the ground phase of Operation "Gideon 2." Israeli military sources stated today that Israel has begun the main phase of a ground operation to seize control of Gaza City. This comes as a United Nations commission of inquiry concluded that Israel committed genocide against Palestinians during its ongoing war on the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023. Y.S. *** Over 100 Palestinians killed in Gaza since dawn today GAZA, September 16, 2025 (WAFA) – A total of 101 Palestinians were killed between 12:00 a.m. and 6:40 p.m. today, Tuesday, across the Gaza Strip. Medical sources reported that 86 people were killed in the northern Gaza Strip, the majority of them in Gaza City, while nine were killed in the central Gaza Strip, and six in the south. In the latest attacks, five Palestinians were killed when Israeli occupation forces targeted a vehicle carrying displaced persons near El-Kateeba Square, west of Gaza City. Earlier today, medical sources in the Gaza Strip announced that the death toll from Israel’s ongoing aggression, which began on October 7, 2023, has risen to 64,964 killed and 165,312 injured. T.R. *** Death toll from Israel's massacre on civilian Gaza neighborhood rises to 20 GAZA, September 16, 2025 (WAFA) – The death toll from the Israeli massacre committed at dawn on Tuesday in the El-Daraj neighborhood of Gaza City has risen to 20, with dozens more injured. The Israeli occupation forces targeted a residential area in the El-Daraj neighborhood, resulting in a rise in the death toll. However, ambulance and rescue crews are facing great difficulty in recovering the bodies due to the ongoing heavy shelling on several areas in the Gaza Strip. According to medical sources, five citizens were killed by Israeli shelling near Al-Lababeedi Street, west of the city. A short while ago, Israeli aircraft launched an airstrike near the gate of Al-Shifa Medical Complex in Gaza City. Israeli aircraft have been carrying out violent airstrikes on Gaza City for days. These airstrikes intensified last night and continue to this moment, after the Israeli occupation forces expanded their destruction by bombing or demolishing buildings, with the aim of forcing civilians to flee south. The same sources explained that 23 people were transferred to Al-Shifa Hospital, 12 to Al-Ma'moud Hospital, and 3 to Al-Aqsa Hospital. Twenty-three citizens were killed and dozens injured on Tuesday after Israeli warplanes bombed several areas in the Gaza Strip. A medical source at Al-Shifa Hospital, west of Gaza City, reported that eight people have been killed, most of them children and women, were brought to Al-Shifa Hospital, and about 40 others were injured. The Israeli occupation targeted a residential area near the General Security area northwest of Gaza City. Two children were killed and others injured and were transferred to Al-Ma'moud Hospital in Gaza City after the Israeli occupation targeted the Masoud family home near Al-Shawa Square in Al-Daraj neighborhood, east of Gaza City. A number of citizens remain under the rubble. Four people were killed and others injured were recovered and transferred to Al-Ma'moud Hospital in Gaza City after Israeli warplanes targeted a house in Al-Sabra neighborhood, south of Gaza City. Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah, central Gaza Strip, said that three people were killed and others were injured to the hospital after an Israeli warplane bombed an apartment in Deir al-Balah refugee camp. Al-Awda Hospital in Nuseirat confirmed that seven people were killed, in addition to 20 being injuried, as a result of the Israeli occupation forces' shelling of civilian gatherings at a humanitarian aid distribution point south of Wadi Gaza in the central Gaza Strip, in addition to other attacks in the central Gaza Strip. Since the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) announcement, 150 fatalities linked to starvation have been recorded, including 31 children. Cases of malnutrition and starvation are arriving at Gaza’s hospitals every hour, with 900,000 children suffering from hunger, including 70,000 already suffering from acute malnutrition. The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) warned that malnutrition among children under five has doubled between March and June as a result of the Israeli blockade on the Strip. Y.S. *** Palestinian civilian killed, dozens injured by Israeli gunfire in central Gaza Strip RAMALLAH, September 16, 2025 (WAFA) – A Palestinian civilian was killed and others waiting for aid were injured a short while ago by Israeli occupation forces' fire near the Netzarim junction in the central Gaza Strip. This brings the death toll from Israeli forces' fire and shelling across the Gaza Strip since dawn today to 39. Meanwhile, Israeli forces intensively opened gunfire towards Palestinian homes in the Tal El-Hawa neighborhood, southwest of Gaza City. Y.S. *** Three more Palestinian journalists martyred, death toll rises to 251 Tuesday 16-September-2025 GAZA, (PIC) The Israeli occupation forces (IOFs) killed three Palestinian journalists on Monday, bringing the total number of media workers slain since the start of the ongoing genocide in Gaza to 251, according to the Palestinian Government Media Office (PGMO) in Gaza. Among those martyred was journalist Mu'hammed Al-Kuwaifi, who died after an Israeli airstrike targeted a makeshift tent his family had set up on the roof of their home in Gaza City’s Al-Nasr neighborhood. Al-Kuwaifi had already lost his wife and children in an earlier Israeli strike on his apartment during the same genocide, yet he continued his reporting work documenting atrocities and the suffering of Gaza’s civilians until his final day. The other two journalists martyred are Ayman Haniyya, a cameraman and broadcast engineer with Al-Manara Media Agency, and Iman Al-Zamli, a reporter with Palestine News Network. The PGMO condemned what it described as a systematic campaign by the Israeli occupation to assassinate Palestinian journalists and dismantle the local media infrastructure. It called on the International Federation of Journalists, the Arab Journalists Union, and press bodies worldwide to denounce these crimes and hold Israel accountable. “Israel, backed by the US, the UK, Germany, and France, bears full responsibility for these heinous crimes,” the statement said, urging global action to stop the genocide, protect Palestinian journalists, and prosecute Israeli officials before international courts. Since October 7, 2023, the Israeli genocidal war on Gaza, supported militarily and politically by the US, has killed tens of thousands of Palestinians, most of them women and children. With 251 journalists now confirmed killed, rights groups warn that Israel is deliberately targeting the press to silence reporting on its crimes. *** ý*** Killing, Injuring, and Abduction of Palestinians in the West Bank by Israeli Occupation Regime Forces ***ý Two Palestinians killed by IOFs gunfire in Qalqilya Tuesday 16-September-2025 QALQILYA, (PIC) The Palestinian Health Ministry said on Tuesday afternoon that two Palestinian young men were killed at dawn by the Israeli occupation forces (IOFs) in the West Bank city of Qalqilya. According to local sources, the IOFs kidnapped two young men from Doura town in southern Al-Khaleel (Hebron). The IOFs also detained several citizens for hours following violent raids on homes in the towns of Doura and 'Awwa before releasing them. In Bait La'hm (Bethlehem), two citizens were taken prisoner during IOFs raids in the towns of Al-Daw'ha and Artas. The Israeli occupation forces also raided homes, interrogated citizens, and handed three of them summons for interrogation in Bait Fajjar town, south of Bait La'hm (Bethlehem). In Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem), the IOFs opened fire at a worker in Al-Dha'hiya area, injuring him in his thigh, before an ambulance crew from the Red Crescent evacuated him to the hospital. In a separate incident, an illegal Israeli settler used his car to block the road at the 'Attara checkpoint in northern Ramallah and then started to attack Palestinian cars and passengers in the presence of Israeli soldiers in the area. *** Israeli occupation forces raid central Ramallah and El-Beereh RAMALLAH, September 16, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces stormed the center of Ramallah and El-Beereh earlier today. Baydaq along with her husband, Bashar al-Tawil, were detained from their home on the 7th of this month. Her husband was released 24 hours later. The occupation authorities continue to detain Baydaq in the interrogation section of Jalama Prison and are preventing her from meeting with her lawyers, according to the Palestinian Prisoners’ Club. Y.S. *** *** Aggression and Attacks by Illegal Israeli Settlers and Soldiers *** Note: Despite the Trump administration support for the Israeli occupation apartheid regime, the U.S. official policy is still considering the Israeli settlement activities in the Palestinian territories as illegal. *** Occupation forces install iron gate near Jerusalem Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem), September 16, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces (IOFs) installed a new iron gate at the entrance to the town of El-'Aizariya, southeast of Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem), on Tuesday. The mayor of El-'Aizariya, Khaleel Abu El-Reesh, said that closing the gate would cut off a main and vital road connecting the northern and southern West Bank. He explained that if the entrance to El-'Aizariya is closed with the gate installed by the occupation forces, it will prevent citizens from traveling between the northern and southern West Bank and would impede the movement of the town's residents. K.T. *** Israeli forces carry out raids and damage vehicles in Al-Khaleel (Heborn) El-Khaleel (Heborn), September 16, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces raided several areas in Hebron this evening, severely assaulting a Palestinian citizen and damaging vehicles at the entrance to Al-Fawwar refugee camp, according to local sources. Forces also raided the Wadi E-Nasara neighborhood, adjacent to the Kiryat Arba colony built illegally on Palestinian land east of Hebron, and conducted a large-scale raid campaign. In addition, Israeli forces stationed at the entrance to Al-Fawwar refugee camp, south of Hebron, smashed the windows of several vehicles parked near the camp entrance, which remains closed by an iron gate. T.R. *** *** News Related to the Israeli Genocidal War on the Palestinian People *** EU Foreign Policy chief warns Israel’s Gaza ground offensive will worsen crisis BRUSSELS, September 16, 2025 (WAFA) – EU Foreign Policy chief Kaja Kallas said today that Israel’s ground offensive in Gaza will make an already desperate situation even worse. In a post on X, she wrote: “It will mean more death, more destruction and more displacement.” Kallas added that the European Commission will present measures tomorrow to pressure the Israeli government to change course over the war in Gaza. “Suspending trade concessions and imposing sanctions on extremist ministers and violent colonists would clearly signal that the EU demands an end to this war,” she said. T.R. *** Egypt holds key international actors responsible for failing to confront crimes of occupation and genocide in Gaza CAIRO, September 16, 2025 (WAFA) – The Arab Republic of Egypt held key international parties responsible for the severe deterioration of the situation in the Gaza Strip due to their failure to act against the crimes and genocide committed by the Israeli occupation, emphasizing the need to uphold human rights and the rule of law. Egypt condemned the launch of the Israeli military operation in Gaza City, describing the operation as a dangerous escalation and a blatant violation of international humanitarian law. It emphasized that this operation demonstrates Israel’s insistence on pursuing reckless policies with grave repercussions for the situation in the occupied Palestinian Territory and the entire region. In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry warned of the catastrophic risks posed by the Israeli military operations, as the region stands on the brink of a new phase of widespread chaos. It emphasized that such reckless arrogance will inevitably harm the interests of all regional and international parties without exception. Egypt called for genuine steps to end the war on the Gaza Strip and to save the lives of Palestinians there, after the Israeli war machine has killed nearly 65,000 Palestinians since the beginning of the war, wounded hundreds of thousands, and devastated infrastructure. It further emphasized the grave consequences of the Israeli military operations on the overall humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, particularly under the siege and suffering imposed on the Palestinian people there, compounded by mass displacement, starvation, and assaults accompanying the ongoing military campaign. T.R. *** Luxembourg to recognize state of Palestine RAMALLAH, September 16, 2025 (WAFA) – Luxembourg's Prime Minister Luc Frieden and Foreign Minister Xavier Bettel announced their country's intention to recognize the State of Palestine. Luxembourg is expected to make the final decision on recognition later this month at the UN General Assembly in New York, in coordination with several other countries, including France and Belgium. Last week, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced that the European Union's executive body would take a tougher stance toward Israel over the war, by halting payments to the country and imposing sanctions on what it described as "extremist ministers" and violent colonists. On Friday, the UN General Assembly voted overwhelmingly in favor of the "New York Declaration," which outlines "concrete, time-bound, and irreversible steps" toward a two-state solution between Israel and the Palestinians ahead of its September 22 meeting. For its part, the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates welcomed Luxembourg's intention to recognize the State of Palestine, considering it a courageous position consistent with international law and international legitimacy resolutions, and part of the efforts to achieve calm and peace in accordance with the principle of the two-state solution. The Ministry reiterated its appreciation to the countries that recognized the State of Palestine and called on other countries to follow suit, in commitment to the two-state solution and in support of the international consensus to stop the war and establish peace. Y.S. *** How Palestine Changed the Narrative at the 2025 Emmy Awards By Khalid Tayih Turn the lights on, roll out the red carpet, sit back and relax — it's one of the most anticipated nights in Hollywood: the 77th Emmy Awards. The 2025 ceremony, as always, welcomed film and TV stars in all their glamorous glory. But this year, the spotlight wasn’t only on the fashion or the trophies. Some celebrities used their moment on the global stage to make bold, heartfelt statements about Palestine, calling for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and drawing attention to the humanitarian crisis unfolding far from the flashing cameras and wide audiences. Actress Hannah Einbinder, best known for her role in Hacks, made a powerful statement both visually and verbally. Wearing a red Artists4Ceasefire pin, she used her time on stage after winning Best Supporting Actress to speak up for Palestine. As she concluded her acceptance speech, she said just before the outro music began to play.: “Go birds, fuck ICE, and free Palestine,” just before the outro music began to play. But her message didn’t end there. Backstage, standing beside co-star Jean Smart and holding her Emmy, Einbinder told the press that she had friends in Gaza, adding: “I have friends in Gaza who are working as frontline workers, as doctors, right now in the north of Gaza, to provide care for pregnant women, and [working] for schoolchildren to create schools in the refugee camps. It’s an issue that’s really close to my heart for many reasons. I feel like it is my obligation as a Jewish person to distinguish Jews from the state of Israel, because our religion and our culture is such an important and longstanding … institution that is really separate from the ethno-nationalist state.” This wasn’t the first time Einbinder had spoken out against Israel’s actions in Gaza. Just last week, she joined thousands of filmmakers and industry professionals in signing the Film Workers for Palestine pledge — a public vow to refuse collaboration with Israeli state-backed film institutions. The pledge is part of a growing movement within the entertainment industry demanding accountability and solidarity with Palestinian civilians amid the ongoing war, which many human rights organizations have described as a humanitarian catastrophe and ultimately and increasingly, as a genocide. “Boycotting is an effective tool to create pressure on the powers that be to meet the moment. The Film Workers for Palestine boycott does not boycott individuals; it only boycotts institutions that are directly complicit in the genocide … I think it’s an important measure, so I was happy to be a part of it,” Einbinder continued. Spanish actor Javier Bardem, who was nominated this year for his performance in Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story, made headlines before the ceremony even began. Wearing a Palestinian keffiyeh on the red carpet, Bardem told reporters: “I cannot work with someone who justifies or supports the genocide.” Speaking to journalists, the 56-year-old actor went further: “I will never work with some companies now [who] are not condemning the genocide in Gaza. Me not getting jobs is absolutely irrelevant compared to what is going on there.” Bardem’s statements were widely reported and drew significant attention to the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza. He remains one of the most vocal figures among celebrities using their platforms to speak out. He wasn’t alone. Megan Stalter, Einbinder co-star in Hacks, also made a quiet but powerful statement. She walked the red carpet with the word “ceasefire!” written on her purse, and later posted on Instagram, calling for a permanent ceasefire and an end to the occupation. Other stars joined the growing chorus of solidarity. The White Lotus actress Aimee Lou Wood and Succession’s Brian Cox were also seen wearing the distinctive red Artists4Ceasefire pin, a small but powerful symbol worn by many in the industry calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. The pin represents the Artists4Ceasefire movement, a collective of artists, performers, filmmakers, and other cultural figures calling for an immediate and permanent ceasefire and urging political leaders to prioritize humanitarian action and peace. Artists who have worn the pin or signed the open letter include Mark Ruffalo, Jessica Chastain, Joaquin Phoenix, and many others. The movement emphasizes nonviolence, empathy, and justice, and its growing visibility at major entertainment events reflects a broader shift in how Hollywood is engaging with political and humanitarian issues. What once felt like a taboo in Hollywood is now echoing across red carpets and awards stages, as stars are no longer afraid to speak up about Palestine. In an industry where political statements are often carefully curated, a growing number of actors are breaking that mold and using their platforms not just to advocate for vague peace, but to explicitly name Gaza, call for a ceasefire, and condemn the humanitarian crisis taking place there. Their words, pins, and protest symbols are not just acts of solidarity, but of defiance; challenging an industry that, for decades, largely avoided taking a public stance on Palestine. At this year’s Emmy Awards, the glitz and glamour shared space with grief and global awareness. For a night that traditionally celebrates fiction, some stars chose to confront harsh realities, using their voices not just to thank agents and producers, but to advocate for justice, peace, and human dignity.
